Calling All Cars
Calling All Cars released ‘Raise The People’ on March 7, debuting at #26 on the ARIA charts. It’s a record Calling All Cars were seemingly destined to make. From their earliest EP days to their first two albums Hold, Hold Fire (2010) and Dancing With A Dead Man (2011), their pop sensibilities have always been apparent, but now have been unleashed to full effect, and with them comes an experimental playfulness that only arrives with a band being confident and comfortable in their own abilities.
‘Raise The People’ was produced by Steve Schram (Clairy Browne & the Bangin’ Rackettes, The Vasco Era) and Tom Larkin (Shihad, Bodyjar, The Getaway Plan) and mixed by Grammy Award winner Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, Pearl Jam, Tom Waits)
In May 2014 the Melbourne 3 piece made the move to the UK off the back of their worldwide signing to Cooking Vinyl. As one of the most astonishing live acts in the country, and having previously toured with AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Queens of The Stone Age, Green Day and Biffy Clyro, it’s no wonder the band already feels international-ready.
“Controlled intensity, crunching riffs and thunderous drums…the album feels like a band growing up fast and confident that it’s time to take to the international stage.” – Sydney Morning Herald
